Love In Exile receives two Grammy nominations

Recorded, mixed (stereo and ATMOS) and creatively adorned with love and respect by me.

Recorded in late 2019 at Flux Studios NYC, the early post-production and sound design for this album was my personal soundtrack to the first days of the pandemic.

Loving layers of sonic glitter; applied by hand, in long real-time passes. Tape and stranger echoes. Tape loops. Granules. Distortion. LFOs. Modulation of every sort. These were my sanity during those challenging days.

I am also happy to report that, apparently, the critical press also think this record is something special.

A few quotes that I really love:

ROLLING STONE:

“…an album that sounds like nothing else out there”

“...akin to visiting some sort of beautiful, strange sonic landscape made from strings, keys, and breath”

“...a masterclass in space…every second isn’t packed with layers of sound and production”

“ “Sajni” starts off with a bass so heavy it shakes the chest, only to be tempered by piano that shimmers like light on the surface of a lake.”

PITCHFORK:

“...a portal to another universe, a small miracle of telepathy occurring across nine spellbinding minutes."

Mastered by Matt Colton.

If you are lucky enough to score the vinyl, you can thank the 🐐, Chris Muth of Taloowa for your listening pleasure.

NOTE: At the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, the album was nominated for Best Alternative Jazz Album and "Shadow Forces" was nominated for Best Global Music Performance.
